SMTP has new user interface in both the Web Administrator and the Console Administrator allowing the IMail Administrator to configure authentication settings. New Account Harvesting Prevention is a feature for SMTP to allow IMail Administrators a means of preventing attempts by a client continuously trying to gain access and attain user names and passwords. To disable this feature or to modify to automatically send a read receipt go to User Options > Viewing Messages and locate the "Read Receipt Action" options. To turn on tracking for all messages in the Web Client go to User Options > Composing Messages and select the "Request a read receipt for all sent messages".īy default the Web Client is set to notify the recipient when a message is displayed and a read receipt is requested. To track a single message simply select Options on the Compose page and select "Request Read Option" before sending the message. The Web Client has the option to track a single message (recommended) or the option to track all messages being sent out. A user must keep in mind that not all Mail Clients support "Read Receipts" and even when they do, a user has the option to decline, so read receipts should not be considered a reliable option.
